SAOL International Women's Week Events

Citywide are holding a seminar on the issue of Drug-related Intimidation in Communities on Tuesday April 9th in St. Andrew’s Resource Centre, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.
This will be an opportunity for Project and Family Support Workers to discuss experiences of intimidation in the communities that they work in.
The seminar will also discuss participation in a forthcoming HRB research project which aims to investigate effective responses to the issues raised. It is important that those working in drug projects and with families attend this seminar so that we can get an ove
The seminar will also feature presentations from speakers including:
· Johnny Connolly, Research Officer, Health Research Board. Drug-related intimidation in the wider community.
· Megan O’Leary, National Family Support Network: Drug Related Intimidation Reporting Programme
· Phillip Jennings, Safer Blanchardstown – Research report: Tackling Intimidation – a collective response to the Iceberg of Intimidation
The seminar will run between 10am and 1.30pm and lunch will be provided

The Snug Counselling Service are hosting a service of Hope and Commeration on the 12th of June for families in the NICDTF area who have lost a loved one or been affected by addiction. This will take place in

We would like to invite all
theprojects in
theNorth Inner City Local Drugs Task Force to get involved in this event.
We plan to make a quilt for this event and all projects are invited to participate by making a square to represent each of the services in the NICDTF. The quilt making courses will start on March 25th. The course will run for 9 weeks on Monday mornings starting on Monday 25th March 2013 and finishing on June 3rd.

ANTHRAX ALERT
Information about Anthrax and Heroin Users
A seventh anthrax related death has been reported in the UK over the weekend bringing the total of cases reported to seven.

As a result of this latest case, the NICDTF have issued an anthrax alert.
Anthrax can be cured with antibiotics but early treatment is very important. Please view the following documents to find out about early symptoms, and for details of where to go in the North Inner City for treatment or further information:
