After Schools Education & Support Programmes 10 Years Celebratory Week: 

The after schools project which is based in 1 Crinan Strand, Dublin 1 is celebrating its 10th anniversary commencing on Monday 17th August with an action packed week with football competitions, rounders, relay and sack races, BBQs and a special treat from Rondo the Magician. The week finally ends with a variety show and disco.

The After schools project has grown in strength and helps to keep 116 teenagers off the streets on a nightly basis, provide a safe and fun enviornment for 58 children and youth between the ages of 3 years to 8. It also creates local employment for 30 people. The staff in the After Schools project are fully trained in childcare, youth studies, drugs awareness, first aid, youth leadership etc. Because they have sucessfully mentored young adults and children they have become very well known in the Irish Film Industry. They assist children and youth in the necessary skills needed for auditions and have had sucess with many films and TV programmes


Asesp staff were awarded the Noel McCarthy perpetual award for outstanding youth leadership and commitment in the Cavan Centre in 2007.

Two of their young adults won the Docklands Young Achievers Award held in the Mansion House in April 2008.

Alternative Methadone Dispensing

Patients whose pharmacies are no longer dispensing methadone are required to bring a current valid methadone prescription, which they should obtain from their pharmacist or their GP., along with photo ID or GP letter, to be presented at city clinic so that patients can be registered and assigned a schedule. There are special evening opening hours arranged.
